The Cutera Laser difference

The Cutera Laser combines the ideal laser wavelength with the most flexible parameters to deliver a superior vascular laser system. It treats a broad range of vessels from tiny spider veins to deep blue reticular veins quickly, safely, and effectively. Patients with dark, light or tanned skin can experience outstanding results.

How does Cutera Laser Vein Therapy work?

The Cutera Laser delivers pulses of light energy which cause the blood within the vein to coagulate, eventually destroying the vessel which is later reabsorbed by your body. Blood flow will then be redirected to veins deeper below your skin’s surface, where it should be.

Who can be treated with the Cutera Laser?

The Cutera Laser features a unique design and long wavelength that allows treatment of patients of all skin tones. Your physician will advise you if Cutera Laser Vein Therapy is right for you.

What types of veins can be treated?

The Cutera Laser can remove unsightly veins from all parts of the body. Small, facial veins (or “telangiectasia”) can be treated quickly without bruising or complication. Spider veins and large blue leg veins can also be treated with excellent results. Knotty varicose veins are not good candidates. A careful evaluation with your physician will help you determine which vessels can be treated and the best course of treatment.

What about blood blisters and port wine stains?

Blood blisters or “hemangiomas” respond very well to Cutera Laser treatment, usually with just one session. Patients with port wine stains and other vascular lesions who had given up on finding a solution have been overwhelmed by the success of their Cutera Laser vascular treatments. Consult your physician for a thorough evaluation.

When will I see results?

Most patients find that the majority of the treated veins have shown significant improvement within two to six weeks of treatment. However, your final results may not be apparent for several months. Over time, it is possible for new veins to appear, but these too can be removed with the Cutera Laser.

What is Excel V?

Excel V is the most advanced aesthetic technology that combines two powerfully precise lasers to target and eliminate vascular concerns (redness, unsightly veins) and benign pigmented lesions (age spots, sun spots, discoloration) on the face and body.

For most procedures, excel V provides quick treatments with best results within just a few days. Most procedures only take 5 to 10 minutes but some may take up to 45 minutes.

How many treatments are required?

Most treatments require only one to two treatment sessions. The number of treatments will vary based on your condition. Your excel V provider will discuss a customized treatment plan during your consultation.

Are there any side effects? what about downtime?
Is the treatment painful?

Redness and/or swelling can be expected following treatment and will resolve within a few days. Treated brown spots will darken and slough off within 3 to 6 days. For full face treatments, swelling will peak 24 to 48 hours post treatment and usually resolves within a few days. Typically, you can wear make-up and return to normal activities immediately. Your provider may recommend a topical steroid to reduce swelling as needed.

When larger veins are treated, a tan or brownish pigment may persist for a few weeks or months following treatment. Patients who have leg vein treatments may be advised to wear support hose for a short period of time.

excel V treatments can feel similar to a rubber band snapping against skin. Depending on the procedure, a cooled treatment tip will be in contact with the skin to protect and provide comfort to the area. A topical anesthetic may be available from your provider to improve your treatment experience.

Lumenis M22

vein and vascular treatments

What is it?

The Lumenis® Leg Veins & Vascular solution;

The Lumenis® treatments enable your physician to effectively treat spider veins, reticular veins (blue veins), broken capilaries and rosacea. Our unique technology enables tailoring of the light source and energy to target the vascular condition and cause it to fade away.

Is it right for me?

Lumenis® energy-based treatments are not suitable for everyone and carry some risks. Lumenis® Leg Veins & Vascular treatment is not suitable when you have active infections, viral, fungal or bacterial diseases, inflammatory skin conditions or skin cancer. Risks may include: redness, swelling, scarring, or a change of pigmentation. Be sure to consult with your treatment provider before choosing this treatment.

When will I see results?

In many cases, improvement is seen immediately after treatment – full clearance of the veins might take several weeks as they slowly fade away. In the case of multiple veins, 2-3 sessions in 6-8 weeks intervals may be needed.

What can I expect after treatment?

Immediately following treatment, darkening of the vessels may be apparent, with slight redness along the vessel. You should avoid hot baths and excessive physical exercise for 1-2 weeks following your treatment. However, you should be able to continue with your normal activities immediately.

How does it work?

Vascular Technology;

The laser or IPL create heat inside the blood vessels, which closes the vein’s walls, eventually causing the vein to disappear. The laser is very precise and only impacts the selected blood vessel and none of the surrounding skin. The IPL filter also targets the blood only and not of the surrounding skin. Both Lumenis technologies enable cooling of your skin between pulses, which reduces the chance of skin damage, producing great results.

Laser or IPL penetrate the deep layers and heat the blood in the vessels, coagulating it.

The treatment

Just before treatment, the doctor will apply a thin layer of clear gel onto the treatment area. During treatment, your physician will treat the targeted veins by applying a few pulses on each blood vessel source. The treatment will take between 10-20 minutes, depending on the number of blood vessels being treated. During the treatment you may experience a stinging or burning sensation, but it is tolerable.

The SapphireCool™ lightguides cool the skin during treatment.
